Hyderabad: An intermediate student who attempted to resort to hi-tech copying in the examination was caught by the officials at Royal Junior College at SR Nagar here on Saturday. Aziz, an intermediate student of a private junior college, was found carrying micro chip with mobile SIM card stitched to his inner wear and small Bluetooth receiver in his ears.

He was appearing for first year economics examination. Officials, who sensed something was amiss, frisked Aziz and were astonished to find micro chip concealed in the inner wear and small receiver in the ear. The Board officials said Aziz wanted to talk to an outsider using small equipment that he had designed.

Speaking to The Hans India, Regional Inspection Officer Ravi Kumar said Aziz was caught before he entered the examination hall. “He is once a failed candidate and tried to use hi-tech equipment for copying in the examination. As per instructions from the higher officials, he was handed over to the police,” he added.

As many as 68 malpractices, including one in Adilabad, two in Medak, four in Ranga Reddy, eight in Nizamabad, 12 in Mahbubnagar, nine in Warangal, 19 in Nalgonda, 11 in Hyderabad and two in Khammam were booked. A total of 49,8108 candidates took Physics Paper-I, Economics Paper-I and Classical Language Paper-I exam and 33439 candidates did not appear.
