NTPC meets Ash users customers
The NTPC organised a one-day meet for Ash Users Customers (Clay Ash Brick Plants) on Friday. NTPC Executive Director Prasant Kumar Mohapatra inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he said ash utilisation was an important segment and the station was doing exceedingly well by achieving around 90 per cent so far in the current financial year.

Speaking on the occasion, he said ash utilisation was an important segment and the station was doing exceedingly well by achieving around 90 per cent so far in the current financial year.
He expressed hope that the station could achieve 100 percent in the coming years with the cooperation of clay ash brick plant owners. With the scarcity of land and sand, ash was a viable option for clay brick manufacturers. Ash brick was not only stronger than the normal clay brick but also help from the environment point of view, he added.
Earlier, AGM (EMG &AU) Y Upender Reddy welcomed the guests and highlighted the initiatives taken by his department for promotion of ash utilisation. General Manager (O&M) Ram Kuber, General Manager (Operation) Y Srinivas, GM (Maintenance) V M Rajan and GM (Fuel Management) Mathew Vargheese also spoke.
Clay Ash Brick Plant owners were present in large number and participated in the discussion. The participants have suggested streamlining the ash issue at ash pond as well as organizing such meet in regular interval for the convenience of owners. Senior officials from NTPC and others were present on the occasion.
