Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said that the missing link between Metro Rail and the international Airport during finalisation of the plan for the Metro project during the previous Congress government in the United AP exposed its lack of vision. “It is the only Metro Rail project in the country which does not have connectivity to the international airport,” he said.

In his reply to the Governor’s address in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport had emerged as one of the busiest air traffic centres in the country with nearly 1.2 crore passengers using it. He wondered how the then Congress government had approved the Metro project without having connectivity to the airport.

"All Metro projects taken up in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai have been linked to airports to provide safe and fast transport facility to air passengers," he said.
