Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Sunday launched 39 vehicles of 108 ambulances for emergency health services in villages of his home district Ranga Reddy. He interacted with the health staff on the functioning of the vehicles and latest facilities available and inquired about the first aid to be offered to accident victims.

Hyderabad: Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Sunday launched 39 vehicles of 108 ambulances for emergency health services in villages of his home district Ranga Reddy. He interacted with the health staff on the functioning of the vehicles and latest facilities available and inquired about the first aid to be offered to accident victims.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, he said they had spent Rs 6 crore for 39 vehicles and Rs 3 lakh for the latest equipments to monitor heart ailments, ECG, oxygen level and BP for the accident victims. The 108 vehicles would reach in no time to the accident spots and offer the best services, he apromised.

The previous governments neglected to maintain these vehicles and could deliver better services, he charged. Now the TRS government was committed to provide better health services and was spending a lot of money for these vehicles and facilities in the hospitals, he said. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave more funds to health sector in the budget, he said.

The Minister expressed hope that the vehicles would plunge into action at the accident spots. He called upon the people to cooperate with 108 vehicles to rush to the accident spots. Health staff and the police wing had to coordinate to offer timely health services to protect the lives of accident victims on a war-footing, the Minister said.
