Tap water to each house by 2017: Eatala

Karimnagar: Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Eatala Rajender assured the people that tap water would be provided to each and every house in the State by next year. The Minister, along with Nizamabad MP K Kavitha, unveiled the pylon of Mission Bhagiratha at Ibrahimpatnam mandal in the district on Friday.

The works of the Water Grid was taken up at a cost of Rs 1,300 crore to provide drinking water to Korutla, Jagtiyal and Dharmapuri constituencies. Speaking on the occasion, Rajender said that the Telangana State stood in the first position in the entire country in the implementation of welfare schemes. Besides providing uninterrupted power, the aim of the government was to supply nine hours quality power to agricultural sector.

The Minister said that all the eligible people including the aged, widows and beedi workers were provided pensions and the amount has also been enhanced to Rs 1,000 from the present Rs 200, while the physically challenged were provided Rs 1,500. MP Kavitha said that the main aim of the Telangana agitation was to get rights over the sharing of water, funds and jobs.

It was the right time to achieve golden Telangana by fulfilling the needs of the people. Stating that steps have been taken to recruit candidates for 25,000 jobs after coming to power in the State, she expressed the hope that the remaining vacant posts would be filled up very soon.

With a view to provide drinking water to each house, an amount of Rs 6,170 crore was allocated to the district, she said that the State government was taking steps so that every single paisa reaches the people living at the grassroots level. Earlier, they inaugurated road widening works from Metpalli to Damrajpalli and Battapur to Godur.
