CPM tour of drought-hit mandals from today
CPI (M) district secretary Julakanti Ranga Reddy on Sunday slammed the government for its failure in extending help to the farmers in the district which was reeling under drought. He released a poster on party drought tour in the district at the party office here. Speaking to the media, Ranga Reddy said the senior leaders in the district would tour all mandals from April 18 to April 22.
Nalgonda: CPI (M) district secretary Julakanti Ranga Reddy on Sunday slammed the government for its failure in extending help to the farmers in the district which was reeling under drought. He released a poster on party drought tour in the district at the party office here. Speaking to the media, Ranga Reddy said the senior leaders in the district would tour all mandals from April 18 to April 22 to get to know the ground realities and would interact with the farmers.
The tour will begin from Tipparthy mandal and party State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram would participate on the first day of the tour. A report would be prepared based on their observations which would be submitted to the government for taking necessary action, he added.
The CPI (M) leader further said on behalf of the farmers, the party would organise picketing in front of the district Collectorate on April 23 to mount pressure on the government for providing assistance and payment of compensation to those farmers, affected by drought. Party district leaders Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy, T Veerareddy, M Ramulu, K Narasimha, Prabhavathi and others participated in the press meet.
