TRS to field Tummala for Palair bypoll
TRS has finalised the name of Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao as candidate for the byelection to the Palair Assembly constituency.
​Hyderabad: TRS has finalised the name of Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao as candidate for the byelection to the Palair Assembly constituency.
KCR, who returned to Hyderabad on Thursday, held a meeting with party leaders from Khammam and felt that TRS could easily win the election. After detailed discussion with the party leaders about the probable candidates, the Chief Minister felt that Tummala would be the best choice.
KCR called Tummala and asked him to contest the byelection. Following this, the minister told media that on the direction of the Chief Minister he has decided to contest the election.
Interestingly, the Chief Minister also directed the Minister for Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao to be the election in-charge for Palair. Byelection is scheduled to be held on May 16.
