Hyderabad: Three IAS officers – Mahbubnagar district collector, Ranga Reddy district collector and Marketing department commissioner – have been found guilty in separate contempt cases by the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday and given punishments.

Justice A Ramalingeswara Rao, while giving this order, expressed serious disapproval over the scant regard being shown by bureaucrats towards the orders of the court.

He imposed a penalty of Rs 1,116 on Ranga Reddy district collector Raghunandan. The judge ordered him to undergo two days of simple imprisonment if he fails to pay the penalty. Mahbubnagar Collector too was given a similar punishment.

Marketing commissioner Sharat was ordered to pay Rs 5,000 as penalty and in the event of a default he has to suffer an imprisonment of seven days.
