Youth, dentist arrested for fake certificates

​Hyderabad: A youth aspiring to pursue higher studies abroad was arrested by the Begumpet Police for producing fake educational certificates during Visa interview. Police also arrested a dentist from Kurnool for procuring a fake certificate to the youth, the police said.

B Saivardhan Reddy (25), resident of Alwal, aspired to study Masters in United States though he could not complete BCom (Computers). One of his friends Abhilash introduced Saivardhan Reddy to a dentist, Venkatesh of Kurnool, to secure a fake certificate, said Begumpet police.

“Saivardhan Reddy paid Rs 50,000 to Venkatesh and procured a fake degree certificate from a varsity, called Ceasar University of Rajasthan. With the fake certificates, he applied for US Visa and attended an interview in March this year.

During document verification, the US Consulate authorities found the certificates were fake and alerted police when he visited the consulate to collect the certificates,” said Begumpet SI D Nagaraju.

Basing on the complaint lodged by the Consulate authorities, Saivardhan and dentist Venkatesh were arrested and sent to judicial remand, the SI said.
