Five persons, including a 17-year-old girl, were killed as the car in which they were travelling was hit by two lorries in Kamareddy mandal of Nizamabad district on Wednesday, police said. 

Nizamabad: Five persons, including a 17-year-old girl, were killed as the car in which they were travelling was hit by two lorries in Kamareddy mandal of Nizamabad district on Wednesday, police said.

The incident happened at Kamareddy Bypass at about 8:30 am, when two lorries, one from the front and one from the rear side, rammed into the car, Sub-Inspector B Santosh Kumar of Devanpally police station said.

Five occupants in the car were killed on the spot, while the driver of one of the lorries was injured in the mishap, he said. Further investigation into the case is going on, he said.

The deceased were identified as Lakshman (34) and his son Harsha (18) of Aaluru village and Gade Praveen Kumar (32) and his daughter Nikhita (18) and son Bharat (16) of Velmal.
