Thursday's celebrations of the second birth anniversary of the State were a testimony to it. Hundreds of Telanganites settled in New Delhi and the neighbouring Gurugram (formerly Gurgaon), Faridabad, Noida and from the nearby towns of Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan made their way to the Bhavan to participate in the celebrations.

The celebrations began with Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Mahmood Ali, unfurling the national flag and saluting the Telugu Talli statue installed in the premises of the Bhavan. Later, TRS MPs Jitender Reddy and B Vinod Kumar, Special Representatives of the State government, S Venugopala Chari and Ramachandrudu Tejawat, and Resident Commissioner Sashank Goel paid tributes to Telangana martyrs.

While Mahmood Ali recalled the developmental strides of the 29th State of the country in every respect pointing out that Telangana was way ahead of the new States created by the erstwhile BJP regime, Jitender Reddy said compassionate governance of K Chandrashekar Rao had put a halt to the farmers' suicides in the State. People were by and large happy with the good governance of the TRS government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of KCR, he added.

MP Vinod Kumar was all praise for the schemes of the Chief Minister which were transforming the State into a front ranking State in India. Venugopala Chari inaugurated a medical camp in this connection at the Bhavan and later distributed fruits and medicines to patients in key hospitals in the capital like AIIMS, Safdarjung, etc.The photo exhibition depicting various events of the two years and an array of cultural programmes enthralled the audience. A sumptuous feast with several Telangana and Hyderabadi specialities was another delight for the avisitors.
