TDF pledges support for TS growth
The crucial role of Telangana Development Forum (TDF) in creation of Telangana is undeniable and it has a greater role to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in rebuilding Telangana State, said the Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar.
Irving (Dallas), Texas: The crucial role of Telangana Development Forum (TDF) in creation of Telangana is undeniable and it has a greater role to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in rebuilding Telangana State, said the Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar.
The TRS MP, who was the chief guest at the valedictory function of the three-day Global Telangana Convention (GTC) here, said some forces were trying to sully the image of the Telangana State government and the Chief Minister and it should not be allowed in the interests of the new State, which is progressing.
“While our government is always receptive to constructive criticism, there is an increasing trend of trying to defame government and personally targeting the Chief Minister, said the senior TRS party leader, adding “this is not a healthy sign for a new State like Telangana.”
The government would like to involve all sections in development of Telangana. He reminded people about the sacrifices made by KCR and TRS. "It is being made out that TRS and KCR were hungry for power but the same KCR sacrificed his Union Ministry and Parliament membership several times for the sake of achieving Telangana."
Excise Minister T Padma Rao recalled the role the TDF and Telangana NRIs played during the agitation and urged them to extend their expertise for the development of the new State. Earlier, the literary session saw poet Andesri and TDF past president Madhu K Reddy coming down heavily on the government.
They urged the government to respect the democratic voices in the State. They were of the view that it was Telangana literary and folk forms that provided the much needed fuel to the masses in their movement for separate State. Telangana Poets, Goreti Venkanna and Nandini Siddareddy, who were felicitated by TDF on the occasion, were the other speakers.
TDF general secretary Praveen Kesireddy clarified to the audience that TDF has no affiliation to any political party and would like to involve in and contribute for Telangana development Vinod Kumar honoured various committees under the leadership of TDF vice-president and GTC convenor Vijay Pitta and TDF Dallas chapter president, Praveen Billa, GTC cultural chair, Sharada Singireddy and Core Committee member Jagdish (Jags) Porandla that strived towards the successful conduct of the convention.
“A typical convention like this needs at least one year of planning, but we were able to pull it off with just a couple of months of planning with the help of over 100 volunteers,”said Jags Porandla,who is a core committee member for GTC-2016.
