Revanth likely to replace Ramana as TTDP chief

​Hyderabad: TDP Telangana unit working president Revanth Reddy is likely to be elevated as president replacing incumbent L Ramana soon.

At the Telangana party unit meeting held here on Monday, party national president N Chandrababu Naidu discussed in detail the strengths and weaknesses of the party following the quitting of several leaders and MLAs, including party MP from Malkajigiri Ch Malla Reddy in the ruling TRS.

Many leaders felt that it is the need of the hour to strengthen the leadership at the state level first before moving forward to revive the party at the grassroots level. Taking into consideration the views of the party leaders, Naidu has reportedly decided to change the leadership in Telangana.

“Naidu is not happy with Ramana’s soft spoken attitude and the latter’s failure in exposing TRS government’s misdeeds and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s dictatorial rule,” a top leader told The Hans India.

As the TRS government completed two years in office and the next elections are slated to be held in three years, the party high command is serious on strengthening the party before 2019 and wanted to promote Revanth as the face of the party in Telangana.

It may be mentioned here that Naidu wanted to name Revanth as party president last year, but the decision was put on hold following cash-for-vote scam involving the party leader.

Sources said that Naidu would hold another round of talks with senior leaders and district leaders before changing the party leadership in Telangana.

Meanwhile, Naidu instructed party cadre to fight against KCR’s anti-people policies and also organise agitations in support of farmers and unemployed youth in the coming days. Party senior leaders M Narasimhulu, E Peddi Reddy and others were present at the meeting.
