Mahabubabad (Warangal): The railway workers have staged a demonstration at Mahabubabad railway on Wednesday opposing the recommendations of seventh pay commission.

They staged the protest under the banner of National Joint Action Committee (NJAC), which represents railways, defence, postal and central government staff in run up for the an indefinite strike call on July 11 by central government employees.

SCR Mazdoor Union leader Ch Mukundam, SCR Employees Sangh leader G Yadagiri, SCRMU women’s wing leader Mumtaz Begum, leaders A Yugander, P Srinivas, Raja Rao, Bhasker and others participated in the protest. The agitating workers took out a rally on the railway station platforms, carrying tea kettles and sporting placards.

Speaking to press persons, the leaders alleged that 33 lakh central government employees have voted for BJP-led NDA.
‘We made a chaiwala (PM Narendra Modi) as Prime Minister and he is turning all the Central government employees into chaiwalas. We demand a minimum wage of Rs 26,000,’ said leaders Mukundam and Yadagiri.

All the railway employees should take part in the strike called by NJAC and make it a grand success to achieve the demands like restructuring of national pension scheme, scrapping of the Bibek Debroy report on Railway restructuring, no FDI in Railways and Defence and others, they said.
