​Hyderabad: The Task Force police on Sunday arrested a farmer from Medak district on the charge of possessing fake currency with a face value of Rs 1.10 lakh in 1,000 rupee denomination.

According to Task Force police, K Kishan, 48, farmer and resident of Mupparam Thanda in Medak district was taken into custody. Another farmer Shankar Naik, 45, resident of Jangamlonka Thanda of Medak district and Ghousuddin, resident of Howrah (West Bengal) is still at large.

The accused Kishan, who was suffering financial hardship, hatched a plan to earn easy money. About three months ago, his relative Shankar came in contact with him and informed him that he could earn quick bucks by circulating fake Indian
currency.

Shankar introduced his acquaintance in West Bengal, Ghousuddin, who supplies fake currency in the ratio of 1:2. Kishan accepted the proposal and was roped in for the crime by Shankar.
