New Delhi: The TRS Parliamentary Party has been directed by Chief Minister KCR to devise a subject-wise plan to press for the demands pending, including early bifurcation of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad. Sources disclosed here on Sunday that KCR had cautioned the party to be not too aggressive in taking up the issues but "not be meek or docile too" in applying pressure on the Centre to keep its word on the promises made in the past.
"Now that the party's strength in Parliament has gone up it is time we use the same fruitfully and to the benefit of our new State. People have several aspirations and several of the bifurcation promises are yet to be fulfilled. We shall raise the issues systematically and in groups with proper inputs and sound arguments", he suggested to the MPs'.
Accordingly, the MPs would form themselves into at least three groups in a day or two to pursue the issues. The ministers and bureaucrats along with subject experts from the state would interact with them to give the MPs inputs necessary to forcefully present the state's viewpoint.
On the vexatious issue of the bifurcation of the High Court pending "due to various reasons and vested interests at play", KCR felt the party should "keep seeking the intervention of the Centre as the Chief Justice too has stepped in with a promise to resolve the issue amicably" after the recent agitation in the State. "In case the Centre fails to address the matter, the party would seek recourse to vociferous methods,” it was decided.
He bemoaned the fact that justice won't be done to the state unless the High Court was bifurcated. "Pressurize the Centre so that it gently nudges the judiciary to intervene at the earliest to resolve the issue in our favour,” is the advice given by him. If there are no favourable signs, then the party could resort to high pitch protests to force the Centre to act, it was hinted.
Following his directions, the MPs would earmark subjects amongst themselves and prepare their arguments, it is learnt. While the bifurcation of the High Court is certainly on top of the agenda, inter-state river water dispute is also on cards. KCR asked the MPs (whoever fall into the group pursuing the matter) to apply pressure on the government in Parliament and also on the Central Water Commission and the Union Ministry of Water Resources seeking a fair approach to the problem in its disputes with the AP government.
On issues like the GST Bill, he advised them to weigh the usefulness of such Bills to the new state of Telangana and extend support to the Treasury benches "unmindful of the approach adopted by the Opposition led by the Congress party.”
