​Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has called upon private professional colleges to strive to improve standards.

He said the recent move by the State government to conduct inspections to verify infrastructure facilities at private colleges was meant to make the colleges better.

It was not supposed to trouble the colleges but aimed at ensuring standards in the colleges.

Telangana State should stand at top in terms of educational standards wherein quality education would be offered to the students, the Deputy Chief Minister said speaking after launching ‘Oompfh 10,000 Job Mela’ at SVS Engineering College in Hanamkonda on Saturday.

He lauded the move by the college management and the Swedish firm Oompfh in organising the placement drive to benefit the students in Warangal and surrounding districts.

The State government has been making efforts to increase employment opportunities to educated youth, he said.

SVS Institutions Chairman E Tirumal Rao and its secretary E Anup have thanked Oompfh, the student focused internship market place, for coming forward to hold the event at their college.

Tirumal Rao said that there was tremendous response as thousands of engineering, management and pharmacy graduates have attended the recruitment drive. As many as 19 companies including HCL, HDFC, ICICI, Genpact, and others have taking part in the job mela.

The salary package offered ranged between Rs 2 -3 lakh per annum, he added.

SVS Director E Suvarna, Oompfh Chief Technology Officer Prudhvi Raj, MLA A Ramesh, TRS district president T Ravinder Rao, Sarpanches Forum leader Yakub Reddy and others were present.
