Nizamabad: District Collector Yogitha Rana reviewed the arrangements being made for the 70th Independence Day celebrations which would be held on August 15.

She instructed the district officials to make the arrangements in the district on a grand scale as the Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Pocharam Srinivas Reddy would hoist the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds in the town on next Monday and address the people.

Participating in the review meeting at the Pragathi Bhawan, the District Collector said that everyone in the district would be involved in the celebrations so that the culture, welfare, growth and development of the Nizamabad district would be highlighted properly.

She said that invitations would be extended to the principals of engineering and various others colleges, NGO heads, businessmen and other prominent citizens of the district who contributed to the growth and development of the district.

Yogitha Rana said that 15 special stalls would be set-up to highlight the development of the district and tablauexes organised by 12 departments would also be displayed on the occasion.

Later, a high-tea would also be organised at the Collectorate for all the prominent citizens of the district and representatives of the media.

Joint Collector A Ravinder Reddy, District Revenue Officer Ratnakar, DRDA project director Chandramohan Reddy, DEO Lingaiah and others were present on the occasion.
