English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Sunaina Singh and the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Nourian on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for training Iranian Diplomats.

​Hyderabad: English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Sunaina Singh and the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Nourian on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for training Iranian Diplomats.

This is the first international pact with any country to train diplomats at the EFL University.The MoU was signed in the presence of Director General, Foreign Affairs of Iran, Ali Rajabi Yazdi, Deputy Educational Affairs Ambassador Bahador Aminian and Senior Consul General Ali Paryan.

The EFLU has a rich history of training foreign nationals and organises proficiency courses in English at three levels - basic, intermediate and advanced.

The EFLU also organises professional development courses and other need-based special courses for the foreign nationals. It has so far trained foreign nationals from 98 non-English speaking countries ranging from Indonesia to South America. In addition, the EFLU has been identified as a nodal centre by the Ministry of External Affairs to set up permanent Centres for English

Language Training (CELTs) abroad with the objective of equipping students, civil servants, professionals and businesspersons with English language and communication soft skills.
