A two-judge bench of the High Court comprising the Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice U Durga Prasad on Tuesday suspended the direction issued by a single judge that in-service medical officers, who served in rural/tribal/remote or difficult areas, were entitled to weightage of marks at the rate of 10 per cent for each year of service rendered in those areas subject to a maximum weightage of 30 per cent.

Dealing with an appeal filed in this regard the bench took on file the appeal and suspended the order of the single judge.
