Telangana State to seek 7k cr Centre aid

An official delegation led by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao would be going to New Delhi to seek Rs 7,000-crore financial assistance from the Centre to construct 11 pending irrigation projects in the State. The delegation is slated to go to Delhi in the second week of September.

Hyderabad: An official delegation led by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao would be going to New Delhi to seek Rs 7,000-crore financial assistance from the Centre to construct 11 pending irrigation projects in the State. The delegation is slated to go to Delhi in the second week of September.
Harish has already requested the Union Ministry of Water Resources to allocate Rs 2,500 crore from Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) for construction of irrigation projects. The delegation would urge the Centre to sanction another Rs 4,500 crore loan from NABARD.
