Speaking to The Hans India, Telugu Desam former MLA Sitakka said: “Albeit the demand for carving out Mulugu district is justifiable, the government has been ignoring it consciously. If Mulugu is made a new district, it will attract the focus of one and all, thus making it difficult for the ruling party leaders to plunder the natural resources the region endowed with abundantly.”

Why does not the government accept the demand of Mulugu district, she questioned, pointing out to the green signal given to the demand of Sircilla, Jangaon, Asifabad and Gadwal districts.

With the news spreading that KCR gave his nod for the creation of four more districts, Munjala Bhikshapati and two other youths climbed the cell tower in Mulugu on Monday demanding formation of Mulugu district. Bandh in Utnoor for tribal district
Adilabad: Several Girijan organisations have called for a bandh in the Agency areas of the district comprising 44 mandals demanding Utnoor as tribal district by merging Boath, Asifabad and Khanapur constituencies.

Narayanpet: Disheartened by not including in the new districts, the Narayanapet Zilla Sadhana Samithi is gearing up for agitation again. “After holding discussions with our local MLA, we will announce our course of action,” said Dr Manohar Goud. He felt the government betrayed them after several assurances.

“Ministers, MLAs promised Narayanpet district in case the fourth district from Mahbubnagar is announced. But surprisingly Gadwal district emerged on the scene,” he lamented. However, he said, he was not against Gadwal district but Narayanpet was a perfect choice for becoming new district in many ways.
