​Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has sanctioned construction of about 12,000 km of road works at a cost of about Rs 5,000 crore in the last one-and-a-half years, Panchayat Raj Minister J Krishna Rao said today.

Rao, who discussed with officials road laying works in the State, said half of the sanctioned works have been completed and the remaining going on at a fast pace. He felt pace of works would gather momentum as more supervision is possible now after re-organisation of districts in the State.

Expressing dissatisfaction over delay in roads and construction of bridges works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak yojna and NABARD funds, the minister stressed on expeditious completion of projects, a Government release said here.
