Shabbir fires salvo at KCR’s silence
Wondering why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not responding to demonetisation of big notes like Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Shiv Sena Chief Uddav Thackeray did, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir demanded the former to open his mouth on the issue immediately.

Hyderabad: Wondering why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not responding to demonetisation of big notes like Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Shiv Sena Chief Uddav Thackeray did, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir demanded the former to open his mouth on the issue immediately.
Expressing doubts over the Chief Minister’s alleged dullness these days, Shabbir Ali said it was not proper on the part of the Chief Minister to direct his MPs to maintain neutral stand on demonetisation of big notes. “It seems there might be some understanding between the Centre and Chandrashekar Rao,” he stated and demanded that the Chief Minister reveal the secret behind his direction to his MPs on staying neutral in Parliament on big notes’ issue.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall here on Thursday, Shabbir Ali asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi whether the poor people, who were staying in serpentine queues before the banks for money were dacoits. He also asked Modi why bigwigs like Ambanis, Adanis, TATAs and GVKs were not in queues. Questioning Modi why his government waived off Vijay Malya’s arrears, he warned that the people would teach a fitting lesson to his government.
Demanding the Prime Minister to withdraw Rs 2,000 currency note, Shabbir asked the Centre why they had introduced new denomination. He asked whether black money would come out with the introduction of Rs 2000 note. The poor were facing severe hardships for withdrawing their hard-earned money, he said and alleged that no person having black money came on the road even 10 days after demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.
Due to the demonetisation of big notes, eight people K Laxminarayana (Marredpally), V Balayya, V Galayya (Dharmaram, Siddipet), Shaik Basheer (Armoor), Monika (Kagaznagar, Asifabad), Narsamma (Kodangal, Mahbubnagar), Hanumanth (Pebber, Wanaparthy) and Vinoda (Shanigaram, Mahabubabad) died of shock, he claimed. Though Telangana Finance Minister Eatala Rajender found fault with the Centre’s decision, the Chief Minister was maintaining silence, he wondered and asked the Chief Minister to explain why he kept silence all these days while the common man was suffering from unprecedented agony.
