New Delhi: A total of 524 habitations in AP and 1,428 in Telangana States are facing drinking water problems as high levels of flouride, salinity and other chemical contamination is found in them.
Stating this in the Parliament here on Thursday in his written reply to a question on the water quality posed by TRS MP B Vinod Kumar and four others, the Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ramesh Chandappa Jigjinagi said while in AP, 449 flouride-affected villages were existing, and 71 were affected with salinity. In Telangana, a total of 1,428 villages were affected with hazardous substances.
