Hyderabad: All the Opposition parties and like-minded social organisations in the state are contemplating to form a Maha Kutami (Grand Alliance) to fight the ‘dictatorial attitude’ and anti-farmer policies of the TRS government.

This is said to have figured during the one-day Deeksha by TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram on Thursday. This is said to have been the main reason for all the important leaders of the Congress, TDP and other parties to converge at Kodandaram’s house.

It was felt that the ruling party have been taking advantage of a divided Opposition and hence it was time for all of them to come together and form an alliance to fight the government on various issues. However, it is not clear whether the alliance will fight the elections together or not. “It is still at a preliminary stage,” TTDP president L Ramana told The Hans India.

He said the proposal to create a strong political platform by uniting all anti-KCR forces has been under consideration for past few months. The recent Deeksha conducted against new land acquisition Act and the support extended by all Opposition provided the necessary impetus in that direction.

As all political parties suffered with continuous defections, the TDP leader said the only option before the Opposition to expose KCR’s failures is to create a strong alternative and launch a struggle against the government. The Opposition parties are also keen that Kodandaram should lead the alliance.

The party leaders mainly Telangana PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and TDP working president A Revanth Reddy have already requested Kodandaram to prepare a plan of action to fight KCR and his dispensation.
