Warangal Urban: Warangal Urban district BJP president Rao Padma has strongly opposed the restrictions imposed on the entry and movement of farmers at Enumamula agriculture market. She said the TRS government has been depicting farmers as extremists by imposing restrictions and it shows the inefficiency of the state government to deal effectively with the crisis.Speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda on Sunday, Padma said setting up check-posts at the market and telling farmers to come with photo copies of their Aadhaar cards, passbooks and Pahani Nakal looks like the farmers were going to some foreign nation, but not to their own market.

The TRS leaders and the government have been politicising the protests being staged by farmers who were distressed over lack of profitable price to chilli and other agriculture produce. The government failed to offer bonus to red-gram and green-gram, she said. The chilli farmers who have invested nearly 50,000 per acre were worrying as they were not able to get even Rs 30,000 per acre. The government which failed to offer Rs 2,000 bonus per quintal of chilli was promising to offer Rs 8,000 per acre in 2018-19, the BJP leader complained.

Padma demanded the state government to lift the restrictions imposed on farmer’s movements at the market and stop creating panic among the farming community. Otherwise, the BJP would mobilise the farming community and stage serious protests, she warned.BJP Kisan Morcha district president P Ravinder Reddy, its general secretary D Sadanandam, district vice-president D Madhava Reddy, state vice-president M Ramchandra Reddy, BJP general secretaries S Jagadishwar and K Santhosh Reddy were present.
