The company collected deposits from over 32 lakh people promising huge returns with high rates of interest. However, the company failed to keep the promise and the cheques issued to the depositors bounced on presentation. Consequently, depositors started filing cases against the company.

Due to the magnitude of the case, Andhra Pradesh government handed over the case to CID. During investigation, CID found that the company acquired about 18,400 acres of land and other properties in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Accordingly, the AP CID sent a proposal to the respective governments requesting for attachment orders against the immovable properties in these States and the government issued an order in this effect.

Of the 18,400 acres of land, the company acquired 2,958 acres of land in Telangana. Also, there were over 5,000 depositors in different parts of Telangana. The Telangana Agri Gold Customers and Agents Welfare Association had filed a PIL seeking justice.

Since thousands of victims from Telangana are waiting for justice, also because of the existence of Agri Gold properties in Telangana, the AP CID chief Dwaraka Thirumala Rao met the Telangana CID chief Govind Singh to discuss the future course of action.
