Revised movie ticket prices into effect from today
Starting from today, people in Telangana have to spend more money to watch movies in theatres. The orders were issued by Telangana government that all the ticket prices in all theatres be it single screen or multiplex will be increased.
Starting from today, people in Telangana have to spend more money to watch movies in theatres. The orders were issued by Telangana government that all the ticket prices in all theatres be it single screen or multiplex will be increased.
This hike in ticket prices is a result of the new GST (Goods and Services Tax) which is to be put into effect from July 1. According to the hike in taxes under GST, movie tickets have been put in the 18 percent tax slab. All theaters will charge the new prices from today.
While the government issued these orders on June 23, announcing that the revised prices will be implemented with immediate effect, the GO was not uploaded on it's official website until Monday. However, few theaters had already put the increased ticket prices into force from last Friday with the release of Allu Arjun’s ‘DJ Duvvada Jagadham’.
