Wanaparthy: A five-year-old female crocodile was caught from Jurala canal near Apparala village on Saturday with the help of forest personnel. Locals spotted the crocodile in the canal and informed to the Wanaparthy Government Degree College biology lecturer Dr Sadasivaiah, who alerted the Wanaparty Forest official Prakash.

Students of Sadasivaiah—Narasimha, Uday, Raghu and Bharat—along with the forest personnel–Srinivasulu, Sagar and Nagaseshu—skillfully caught the crocodile and later released it in Jurala Project reservoir. Dr Sadasivaiah suspected that it accidentally entered into the Jurala canal venturing out of the local ponds.
