Hyderabad: The city police, which declared M Vikram Goud as the prime accused, arrested him soon after he was discharged from the hospital on Thursday and produced him in Nampally court. The court remanded him to 14-day custody and was shifted to Chanchalguda jail.

Before being shifted to Chanchalguda jail, Vikram Goud reportedly appealed to the court to admit him in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) where he can get treatment for his injuries. On his way to the jail, he was taken to Osmania General Hospital for medical examination.

His arrest follows the arrests of five more accused persons in this case on Wednesday. The 35-year old politician, film producer and businessman had hired gang of 8-members to execute his plan.

While most of them were from Rayalaseema region of AP, the main shooter was from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The entire contract was for Rs 50 lakhs, where the prime accused had spent Rs 5 lakh. It is learnt that he had asked his lawyers to apply for bail; but police sources say that the case filed against him is such that it would not be easy to obtain bail from court.

According to the Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy, Vikram Goud thought that police would go after his enemies and similarly, he would get back his investments in Odisha Mining Project from his partner Sambasiva Rao.

As he was in debts, he thought his creditors would stop troubling him in the wake of such an attack on him. He also thought that it would become easy to get a weapon licence from the police.
