Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit on Wednesday alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was trying to make headlines by promising to fill 84,000 posts. BJP asserted that the government lacks commitment in filling vacancies in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, party’s official spokesperson Y Rakesh Reddy alleged that the government lacked the commitment to give jobs to the unemployed youth in the State. He raised questions regarding 84,000 vacant posts and asked the government that if they were aware of the vacancies in the State what made the TRS government in not filling these posts until now.

“There are 15 lakh unemployed youth registered with Telangana State Public Service Commission but government released only 2,345 Group 2 posts, which is just an eyewash,” he said. The BJP leader found fault with the Chief Minister claiming to have filled 27,660 government posts in the State.

He said the government on Tuesday released details of 22,468 posts. If this was the case where are the other 5,129 posts gone, he asked. This is proof enough to show that the government was giving wrong figures, he alleged.

He further alleged that out of the 22,468 posts, 10,499 belong to police department, which means 50 per cent posts are of constables and 5,515 have been filled in Singareni, which is a joint organisation (Centre and State governments), which means government filled 16,000 posts only.
