Bhadrachalam: Telangana State Beverages Corporation Chairman G Devi Prasada Rao on Saturday strongly rebutted the allegations made by Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) Chairman Kodandaram regarding government laxity. He said the supply of fine quality of rice to hostel students, execution of double bedroom houses for the poor and completion of Sitarama Lift-Irrigation project in a record 11 months are just some of the achievements of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in the State.

Devi Prasada Rao at a press conference here on Saturday took strong objection to Kodandaram’s remarks over government work, he said it was not proper on the part of the TJAC chairman passing sweeping remarks against the government.
He advised Kodandaram to desist from passing such unsavoury remarks. Moreover, he advised Kodandaram to see for himself the development works going on in the State.

He alleged stepmother treatment to Telangana at the hands of the Centre and quoted the example of lack of proper guidelines on division of employees between the two States even after three years of bifurcation.He said he prayed to Lord Rama for more strength to the TRS government, which is on the road to development for the past three years.

Expressing concern over merging the Polavaram project displaced mandals with the Andhra Pradesh he recalled that the people of the displaced mandals fought heroically for the State of Telangana. The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao targeted development of temples which faced neglect in the rule of united AP and initiated steps for the growth of Yadadri and Vemulavada temples while the blue print for development of the Bhadradri temple was ready.

TNGO central union president and General Secretary Ravinder Reddy and M Rajender demanded that the Centre show initiative and continue the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) as it is.

They said an action plan for retaining the CPS would be made public on August 23. They demanded the filling of vacancies caused because of creation of new districts in the State and implementation of 20 per cent of the basic pay as HRA for government employees working in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
