Following the massive protests staged by women over the poor quality of Bathukamma sarees, TRS leader T Padma Rao responded on the issue and gave a clarification.
Stating that the sarees were brought from Surat, the TRS leader said that it happened due to lack of time adding that despite the orders placed with handloom weavers, the sarees did not reach on time.
Describing that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to offer gifts to all religionists, including Christians and Muslims, for their rspective festivals, Padma Rao said that for Hindu women, sarees were decided to be distributed before Dussehra.
