Hyderabad: There seems no end in sight for the sufferings being faced by children in the corporate schools. Within a day’s gap after Kotha Sandhya, a class 10thstudent of Udaya Memorial High School in Jadcherla, ended her life citing stress arising out of schoolwork, the MGM School in city forced their students to stand in open under the blazing sun. Four of the children slumped unconscious and they were shifted to hospital for treatment.

According to parents, the children, who were made to stand in the hot sun, were not allowed to appear for examinations as they did not pay school fee.

Though the corporate schools continue to inflict punishment on students for one or the other reason, the Education Department remains unmoved by the plight of the children.
The parents, who registered their protest with the MGM school management, pointed out that the school had resorted to the unethical practice of mounting pressure on the children.

Around 30 school children were asked to leave their classrooms and not allowed to appear for the examination. In addition to this, they were made to stand in open for hours, saying that they would not allow until their parents come to the school and clear the fee dues.

Rejecting the allegations of the school management, the parents said that they were not given time to clear the dues. Also, the school has been issuing chit bills without the name of the school and its address against the payment of school fees of around Rs 24,000, said a parent.
