Warangal: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders took strong objection to the comments made against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister K T Rama Rao by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders during a public meeting in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker demanded that the BJP leadership tender an unconditional apology to the TRS. He said that the BJP leaders K Laxman, V Ram Madhav and others have crossed their limits in criticising the TRS.

Everyone had a feeling that there were intellectuals in the BJP but, the language they used against the TRS proved such a notion was wrong, he said. Being a national leader Ram Madhav spoke in a very objectionable manner and his language was in poor taste, the MLA added.

The BJP leaders failed to look at the development being taken across Telangana, especially in Warangal. It is wrong to criticise the Chief Minister who has been making committed efforts towards the all-round development of Telangana, he said.

Even the Central Ministers have on many occasions lauded the many programmes including Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya, being implemented by the TRS government. But the BJP leaders in Telangana were acting blind in accusing the government of failing to ensure development in the State, he added.

The BJP leaders were of the opinion that troubling the public with GST and damaging banking system with demonetisation was development, Vinay Bhasker stated and added that the white colour crime was on rise across the nation under the BJP rule.

The MLA wanted to know why the Centre failed to set up coach factory as promised by the previous government. The BJP, the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs who represented Warangal (West) in the past failed to develop it but, now progress was at fast pace as the Chief Minister assured Rs 300 crore special fund to the city.

MLA and KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy described the BJP’s Jana Chaitanya Yatra as a flop show as it lacked public support. The yatra was just meant to prove their existence and the party leaders should remember that failed to secure deposits in last elections, they said.

Speaking to the media in Warangal, GWMC Mayor N Narender also countered the BJP leaders’ statements and said that the party which got many leaders lacks cadre. They should first find candidates to contest in the polls and think later about winning, he said.
