Khammam: AT the district-level athletics championship contest held at Sardar Vallabhai Patel stadium here on July 22, several polytechnic students of Sai Spurthi Institute of Technology excelled in various events.

Under-20 years category, third year mechanical engineering diploma student TV Phani excelled in 100- meter and 200-meter running race for boys. Also shone in the 200 meters running race was first year Mechanical Engineering Diploma student Karthik. In the shot put event for girls, Snehalata Reddy, a student of the second year Diploma in EEE hogged the lime light.

College physical director Raghupati Reddy and college correspondent-cum- secretary Dasari Prabhakar Reddy congratulated the winners. Dean for Polytechnic College section D Dastagirayya, heads of various government departments and college principal Dr Chennupati Vijaya Kumar congratulated the winners.
