Karimnagar/Hyderabad: Setting the party’s tone for the future campaign in the Telangana State Assembly elections, BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday appealed to people of Telangana to give an opportunity for BJP in the ensuing State Assembly election to bring the much-needed change.

Coming down heavily on the TRS, Congress, TDP and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), at Dr Ambedkar Open Air Stadium in Karimnagar, Amit Shah said that they all were engaged in "breaking India, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working for Make in India."

The saffron party chief took on KCR saying that it had become a tradition for him to make promises and later forget about them. "KCR has made 150 promises in last four-and-a- half years. But, breaking promises has become a tradition for him and his TRS," he said.

Asserting that KCR would never make a Dalit the chief minister of the Telangana, Shah said it was because he had his son or daughter in mind to make one of them chief minister in future.

Listing out promises the TRS has failed to deliver, Shah said nearly two lakh jobs are lying vacant and not a single vacancy of a teacher, lecturer, doctors or even an attender has been filled in last four years. Of the two lakh double bedroom houses promised not more than 5,000 have been constructed so far and the funds sent to the State under Pradhana Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) remained unspent, he said.

Further, still 800 families of the Telangana martyrs are waiting for justice and they will be questioning KCR this time in the elections. He said that propaganda has been made about irrigation projects in the State but people are not benefited from it so far. Besides, Mission Kakatiya could not achieve its objectives even after spending Rs 15,000 crore. Telangana is one among the four states which recorded the highest number of farmers' suicides.

However, to hoodwink farmers, KCR is distributing money, he said. Dismissing the argument that NDA government at the Centre did not do anything to Telangana, the saffron party chief asked KCR to speak the truth. He said that KCR himself was a minister in the UPA government at the Centre.

While the UPA with Sonia Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh had given Rs 16,587 crore to Telangana. But, the current NDA under Modi under the 14 Finance Commission had released Rs 1.15,105 crore to the State. In addition, under several schemes, the total funds released to Telangana in the last four-and-a- half years touched Rs 2.30 crore, he said.

However, the benefits of funds released to the State did not reach the poor of the State, he alleged. He asked people to give an opportunity to BJP to make Telangana as one of the best-developed states in the country.

Taking on the Majlis, Amit Shah asked, could any son of the soil (people of Telangana) forget the atrocities committed by Rajakars on the people of the State? He asked KCR as to how he had forgotten the people who had laid down their lives for its liberation and wanted to know, if he is not celebrating the Hyderabad liberation day, fearing the AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

He assured the people that BJP would celebrate the liberation day in a big way in every district of the State if it is voted to power. Referring to TRS proposal to provide 12 per cent reservations for minorities, he said, it could be done only by cutting the existing percentage of reservations of SC, ST, and OBCs. And, people of the State should demand an answer from KCR on this, as whose reservations he wanted to cut?

Terming the TRS, TDP, Congress, and AIMIM are engaged with the breaking India forces while Modi is engaged in making in India. He asked people to elect the BJP in the State Assembly elections and support the party in 2019 general elections, to identify and deport the illegal infiltrators staying in Telangana and from the entire country.

He cautioned people against Congress since it joined with TDP but the alliance cannot be alternative to the TRS as none of them has the courage to fight against the AIMIM. Also, one has to search with a magnifying glass to find Congress in the country as it has lost everywhere.

Earlier, addressing the presidents of the party Shakti Kendras and Polling Booths from nine parliament constituencies in Hyderabad on Thursday morning, Shah said: “KCR, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and communists” are neither bothered about the people of the country nor could create jobs for the youths.

Their sole preoccupation is only to play vote bank politics, he alleged. The BJP agenda remains unfinished until it wings all these states, for which, he asked the party men to work hard as BJP is going to be a formidable political force in Telangana.
