Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said that the Congress, when it comes to power, would turn Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence of Chief Minister, into a public hospital.
Addressing a meeting at Gandhi Bhavan after the joining of followers of TRS MLC C Bhupathi Reddy of Nizamabad district into the Congress party, Uttam alleged that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has cheated all sections of the society and neglected all districts, particularly Nizamabad.
“KCR, along with his family members, has been living a lavish life after coming to power and completely neglected the welfare of farmers, youth, students, Dalits, Girijans, Backward Classes, minorities and women. Pragathi Bhavan, which constructed at a cost of Rs 500 crore on 9 acres and 1 lakh sq ft, is now a symbol of dictatorial and aristocratic rule of KCR family.
After coming to power, the Congress party will turn the Pragathi Bhavan into a public hospital, with a view to announce the return of people's rule and restoration of democracy in Telangana,” he said. The TPCC chief also alleged that KCR and his daughter K Kavitha, who is also the Nizamabad MP, have cheated the people of Nizamabad on the promise of reviving the Nizam Sugar Factory within 100 days of coming to power. He said the TRS government made no efforts to revive the NSF in the last four-and-a-half years.
Stating that the father and daughter owe an apology to the people of Nizamabad, Uttam promised that the next Congress government would revive the Nizam Sugar Factory in just 100 days after coming to power. He also assured that all the pending irrigation projects of Nizamabad rural would be completed on war footing. The TPCC chief further added that TRS had no moral right to seek votes from the people of Nizamabad or other districts across Telangana, and said all sections of the society have been desperately waiting for December 7 to throw the TRS out of power.
He claimed that there has been a Congress wave across Telangana and the party would win all nine Assembly seats of Nizamabad district. The TPCC chief said that the countdown has begun for the end of TRS regime and Chandrashekar Rao would not be able to retain power despite him spending hundreds of crores of ill-gotten wealth. The meeting was also addressed by MLC Bhupati Reddy, Nizamabad DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan, former minister Sudarshan Reddy and others.
