Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly given his nod to seat sharing formula primarily proposed by the Congress party for formation of Mahakutami Grand Alliance
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly given his nod to seat sharing formula primarily proposed by the Congress party for formation of Mahakutami (Grand Alliance).
The decision was taken on Monday after a series of meetings Chandrababu Naidu held with top leaders of Telangana TDP. Naidu reportedly told his party men that the formation of a Grand Alliance in Telangana against TRS was more important than the seat sharing. The TDP chief held detailed discussion on the political situation in Telangana and TDP's prospects. According to sources, Naidu also had discussion on the seats from where TDP proposes to field its candidates. He convinced the State leadership to accept the seat sharing formula being suggested by the Congress to formalise the formation of a Maha Kutami. Sharing the findings of surveys conducted by him, he told the TDP leaders that it was very difficult for the TRS to win next elections and division of votes among opposition parties could help the TRS. Therefore, he asked them not to get upset over getting a small share in seats and keep defeat of TRS as the main target for next elections.
Chandrababu Naidu also assured the State leadership that he would discuss the seat sharing and other issues with the top leaders of Congress party. He also asked them to finalise the strategy for joint campaign. He also assured that he would address public meetings in four districts of Telangana during the campaign.
