Hyderabad: Human Resources personnel are the anchors for the collaboration among employees. Such collaborations and respect for others views and ideas would enhance the performance of an organisation, said V Laxmikanth, the managing director of Broadridge Financial Solutions (India) Private Limited. He was speaking at the 14th edition of HR Conclave organised with the theme, “HR: The New Age Superheroes.” The event was organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Rajita Singh, convenor, CII Telangana (HR & IR Panel) & Head-HR at Broadridge Financial Solutions (India) Private Limited, welcomed the gathering and stressed upon the importance on the role of HRs in an organisation.

Dr Praveen Kumar Chintapanti, the founder of Tranquil Minds, said that technology is impacting humans the way they work and taking much of their time casing work life imbalance. Everyone is trying to compare themselves and get validated by others. He quoted that life need to be experienced rather than liked by someone else. HRs play a key role in rescuing the emotional spaces from egos and provide the employees a space to work. Gautam Ghosh, a HR and Social Business Consultant and former Director - Talent Branding at Flipkart, said that right from the discovery of fire by cavemen, every time a new tool comes in the world, it will change the way the society works.

Hence, HR personnel need to update on the new tools and platforms to help the colleagues get not just training but also a good learning. Dr Kiranmai Pendyala, Former Corporate Vice President- HR, AMD, said that respect and understanding cross cultures, body language, confidence, trustworthiness, being humble and readiness to listen to others and also networking are some of the key qualities which help an HR to succeed and handle unpredictable situations. Ishita Singh, Designer, Anhad Studio, shared her experiences and challenges faced as a women in setting her foot in fashion industry and making a mark.

T Muralidharan, Chairman of TMI and Group MD of C&K Management Ltd, shared his insights into the role of HR in future. He said that by 2030, as per some reports, there will be only 9% permanent work force in US. He felt that though Artificial Intelligence is reducing some of the jobs, the jobs which need creativity are not at risk. Hence with the shrinking of permanent employment share, there will be new challenges for HRs.

The HR Conclave also organized a Competition on Rising star of HR to recognize Young HR professionals. Ms. Mehak Syal, HR Business Partner, ITC Ltd; Mr Rama Krishna T, Deputy Manager HR, Coromandel International Ltd; Ms Sneha Arora, Senior HRBP Consultant, SAP Labs India Pvt Ltd. were professed the winners of the “Rising Stars of HR” The conference was well attended by over 200 delegates from the Industry and Academia. They were made aware of the challenges, new avenues, importance of HR role in companies performance, key qualities and strategies to solve problems etc.
