Malakpet: The ‘Job Connect’ programme registration forms were distributed to the unemployed youth by Chaderghat police, in Malakpet on Friday. A Job mela will be held at VV function hall in Jambagh on Saturday. Chaderghat Inspector of Police G Nagaraju said, “It is a great opportunity for the unemployed youth to grab a job. Many job seekers from low income and socially backward families do not have computers at home and are not fluent in English, hence are unable to use job boards and other job search options effectively. ‘Job Connect’ is an employer-employee connect van which takes the job information to job seekers waiting at bus stands, railway stations, colleges etc. and encourages them to register for free and access the latest jobs available locally and regionally.

The ‘Job Connect’ programme with the support of TMI for filling around 3,000 jobs in different private companies is aimed at connecting youth with right skills with opportunities. It will also help youth take important career decisions and provide recruiters with right employees, thus benefitting both of them. Representatives available in bus will help the candidates fill in the registration forms and provide information on job opportunities available in the city.

A candidate needs to have just the right skills to fit into a vacancy. So, any recruiter would want to have a peek at the professional experience and work interests of the candidate, how the person gels with his coworkers, how candidate performs and how much of a fit candidate will he become in the company. These are crucial characteristics for an hiring manager to know before interviewing and shortlisting a candidate.
