Mahakutamis Congress candidate for Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar challenged TRS candidate Gangula Kamalakar and BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar to stop election campaigning and to leave the verdict to the voters
Karimnagar: Mahakutami’s Congress candidate for Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar challenged TRS candidate Gangula Kamalakar and BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar to stop election campaigning and to leave the verdict to the voters.
Speaking to the media at the camp office here on Thursday, Ponnam said that the TRS gave ticket to Kamalakar on September 6 and after few days BJP allotted ticket to B Sanjay Kumar and Congress gave me ticket on November 14.
He alleged that G Kamalakar, who ruled for ten years and started campaigning two months back, is sensing his defeat, hence intensifying his campaigning. He stated that Kamalakar has earned crores of rupees by running sand, ghutka and granite mafia and trying to create panic among the people, while B Sanjay Kumar is trying to divert the people in the name of devotion and encouraging communalism in the city.
“I am ready to explain to the people what development and welfare schemes I had introduced in the constituency during my tenure of five years as MP. Ruling for 10 years, G Kamalakar must reveal to the people what development he did to the constituency,” Ponnam challenged.
The Congress candidate criticised that the TRS leaders never took any initiation for the establishment of medical college in the district. If only a medical college was established, the district might get another government hospital, through which the poor people living in the city and in the district would have better medical facilities, he added.
‘It is the failure of the TRS leaders, who never exerted pressure on the government for the establishment of medical college in the district.’ Though several people have been suffering with several diseases like chicken gunya, malaria, dengue etc, the officials and the ruling party leaders did not take any prior measures to prevent the spread of these diseases.
The drainage and sanitary system is not good in the city and people are living in miserable conditions in unhygienic environment, he added. Ponnam Prabhakar said that people are watching every move of the caretaker TRS government and its leaders and are ready to teach a fitting lesson to the TRS in the coming elections.
“People are with me and giving a grand welcome to me where ever I go for election campaigning. I am confident of winning the elections with bumper majority,” Ponnam stated.
