Siddipet: It appears to be a cake walk to the caretaker minister and TRS candidate Harish Rao in the elections. According to political parties, Harish Rao may not face tough competition from the rival parties. He set to achieve double hat-trick. Following the path laid by his maternal uncle and present Caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Harish tasted first success in 2004 by-polls from Siddipet. He achieved successive victories in 2008 and 2010 by-elections apart from 2009, 2014 general elections. According to political pundits he is known as trouble shooter to the party.

Total voters in the constituency are 2,09,335 where male of 1,04,045 and female consists of 1,05,275 and others are 15. As far as community based vote share was concerned, Mudiraj of 12.81 percent, Madiga of 11.43, Padmashali of 8.94, Muslims of 8.55, Reddys of 7.32 and Vysyas of 4.09 percentage. Though their percentage is less in comparing with others, Vysyas has been influencing Siddipet town in a big way.

The constituency consists of Siddipet (urban), Siddipet(rural), Chinna Kodur and Nangunur mandals. Underground drainage works with an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore were taken. Construction of 2,000 2BHK houses has been at finishing stage. Komati Cheruvu mini tank bund developed as a major tourist attraction with open auditorium, open gyms, boats, Adventure Park, children’s playing equipment, ‘Love Siddipet’ logo spot. Siddipet is popularly known as a model to prestigious ‘Mission Bhagiratha’ drinking water programme.
