Secunderabad: Deepshikha Mahila Club, organised a three-day mela to encourage women to work from home by making products such as papad, pickles, knitted wear and crocheted items. The funds raised would help close to 1,200 students.

President of Deepshikha Mahila Club, Anita Goyal said, “Mahila Club was formed in 1965 and from past 50 years, we are working under the motto of ‘Service to Humanity is Service to God’. Philanthropy, education, healthcare and empowerment through skill development are among the multifarious activities undertaken by the club. The Deep mela is used to fund the ongoing charitable activities of the club, including the running of the 1,200 strong Kanya Gurukul High School, Junior College and Vocational College at Ameerpet in Hyderabad, Goyal added.
