Misrigunj: With the examination fear gripping the students, particularly of Intermediate, the Dargahs in different parts of the Old City are seen enclosed in thousands of copies of hall-tickets who tie them, while making vows. The students who visit and perform this kind of act in the hope that they would achieve success in these examination considered to turning point of life.

Relying in the believe that the Sufi Saints would help them overcome the pressure and achieve success in the examinations, thousands of students were seen tying their hall in Dargahs like, Shah Raju Qattal (Badi Gumbaz) in Misri Gunj, Dargah-e-Yousufian in Nampally, Dargah Syed Meeran Hussaini Quadri Bogdad in Langer Houz and some others. The students can be seen turning themselves devout during the hard times, while offering nazam and visiting Dargahs increased believes in Sufi Saints. “In Dargah Badi Gumbaz located in Misri Gunj during the seasons of examinations the students of all from KG-to-PG tie their hall tickets. Thousands of students from far the areas comes and tie their hall tickets in believe that they will pass out in examinations, not only Muslims but also other community students also believe in tying hall tickets,” said a devotee.

Mohammed Murtuza, an Intermediate student said, “The believe in tying the hall ticket in the Badi Gumbaz Dargah is so high that since the 6th standard I visit the dargah every week and every year in examinations I tie my board examination hall ticket and by the grace of god and my believe I never failed in examinations,” he added.

He also said that, many of the students were seen only tying the hall tickets in Dargahs but not offering prayers, firstly we have to pray to god and then have to believe in Sufi Saints, he lamented.
At the famous Nampally Dargah, where the devotees from different communities are seen every day, every year during the time of examinations the students of all communities were seen tying threads, hall tickets and also vow for the goods and works. “Every year in the time of board exams I tie thread and hall ticket in Nampally Dargah with the believe I passed in exams, this was started by my Grandfather said me to tie the hall ticket in dargah, so since many years me and my siblings tie the hall ticket in Nampally Dargah,” said Syed Akbar, a degree student.

Many Muslims students and also the other community students were seen tying the hall ticket with the faith and believe. Hall-tickets with the names of Anmol Ojha, Bandari Chandana and other names were also seen at Nampally dargah,” he added.

According to dargah custodians, each year starting from month of March to May or till the exams of PG, thousands of students of all castes and communities tie their hall-tickets, ardently praying for blessings to help them pass with flying colours.
