Bringing back the trust in police

Rajasekhar-starrer 'Mahankali', which has been in making for more than a year, is finally set to see light of the day. The movie directed by Rajasekhar's wife Jeevitha is scheduled to release on Women's Day (March 8). Rajasekhar said, "Jeevitha has played a significant role in making this film. My film 'Ankusam' has been an inspiration for those who wanted to join the police force. It was a trendsetter. I'm confident that 'Mahankali' will take my image as cop to the next level. I'm eagerly looking forward to see myself on the large screen." Speaking about the film, director Jeevitha said, "Rajasekhar fits the bill for this film as he is noted for cop roles. In the wake of incidents like Dilsukhnagar twin blasts, Delhi gang-rape incident, people have started losing confidence on police. But our film, which shows cops in good light, shatters this poor image. It brings back the trust in police and amplifies respect towards them." The Tamil version of the movie titled 'Idhu Thanda Police 2' will release in summer.
