iit toppersHyderabad: Change of pattern could not stop students belonging to Andhra Pradesh from sharing top honours in the JEE Advanced results IIT Results for admission into first year engineering courses in the prestigious IITs across the country. The results were declared on Friday, two days ahead of the scheduled date of release. AP students bagged the first two ranks along with 7th and 8th ones. All the rankers were coached by CHINA (Srichaitanya and Narayana) Group.

Pallerla Saisandeep Reddy, a native of Podili of Prakasham district stood at the top with an impressive performance of 332 out of 360 marks. He was the tenth ranker in Eamcet and was also among the top ten in Jee Mains and VIT entrance exams.

A Ravichandra of Hyderabad secured second rank with 330 marks. He was also in the top ten of all important national level entrance examinations including BITS. Muppirala Viswa Virinchi, who was topper in Jee Mains bagged the seventh rank with 315 marks followed by Sibbala Leena Madhuri got eighth rank with 314 marks out of 360. She is the first girl in the top ten from the state in the past ten years in IIT results. Another prominent coaching Institue FITJEE's students bagged all India third and fourth ranks. While Anand Bhorasker stood at all India third position, Karthikeya Gupta bagged the fourth rank.

Students from Andhra Pradesh have also bagged the 16, 17, 18, 21, 26, 34, 35, 36, 38, 41, 42, 44, 45, 47, 49 and 50th ranks. In all 44 AP students were there in top 100 in open category. Considering the change of pattern and tough exam paper, this is really a remarkable achievement, according to experts. "I think more than 2,200 students from the state would have been selected for the IITs this time. When we calculated just Open Category, it came to more than 1,350 from AP" Dr P Narayana, Director of Narayana Group of Institutions told The Hans India.

The counseling for admissions will commence from June 24. Only the top 1,50,000 students of JEE Mains were allowed to sit for the Advanced exam, which was held on June 2. The rankers shall be in the top 20 percentile of the Board exam i.e. Intermediate. The 15 IITs which will provide admissions are: IIT-Bhubaneshwar, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Gandhinagar, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Hyderabad, IIT-Indore, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Madras, IIT-Mandi, IIT-Patna, IIT-Rajasthan, IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Ropar. IIT Hyderabad has 210 seats.
