ysrcpYSR Congress Honorary President YS Vijayamma said here on Saturday that YSR Congress would contest from both new States if the State was divided into Andhra and Telangana. Speaking to The Hans India, she said that even if Rayalaseema is divided and Rayala Telangana formed, it would be beneficial to the YSR Congress Party. Whether the State is divided or kept united, it should be in the interests of everyone and everyone should accept it, she observed. However, Vijayamma doubts if it would happen at all.

She said that YSR Congress Party was formed two years and this is the first time the party is facing elections in villages. She appealed to the cadres of the party to work unitedly and win the hearts of people to win the elections. Referring to the padayatra taken up by Sharmila, she said that her daughter has been walking for about 200 days leaving her husband and children back home to bring about an awareness among people about the welfare programmes of her father late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Vijayamma said that Sharmila is telling people that YSR Congress would strive for the welfare of the people and the latter should stand by the party. Sharmila is also telling people that Jagan would come out of jail and would do justice to the people, she said, asserting that Jagan would come out soon. The YSRCP Honorary President found fault with the State government for not mentioning the name of Dr Rajasekhara Reddy though he was instrumental in launching all the programmes. "Ninety five per cent of works were completed by Dr Rajasekhara Reddy," she reminded.

Referring to the statement of Digvijay Singh that YSR Congress's DNA is that of Congress, she said that YSR Congress's DNA is that of Dr Rajasekhara Reddy and not anyone else's.
