Warangal Urban: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested one member of a two-member burglar gang and recovered property worth Rs 12.44 lakhs from him. Additional DCP (Crime) B Ashok Kumar produced the thief before the media here on Thursday. The recovered property included 218 grams of gold ornaments, three auto rickshaws and three motorcycles.

Disclosing the details, the Additional DCP Ashok Kumar said that they had arrested Jannu Arjun alias Ajji of SR Nagar near Enumamula market and his accomplice Baripatla Sai of Pochamma Maidan was absconding. A special police team was formed to nab the absconding thief, he said.

Following a tip off, the CCS inspector P David Raju and Intezargunj police personnel conducted vehicle inspections at Kashibugga area and arrested Arjun while he was coming from Enumamula market to sell the stolen property on a stolen motor bike.
Additional DCP B Ashok Kumar said that the duo had committed 12 thefts under different police stations limits in the city, in Jangaon and Warangal rural districts.

Arjun was a hamali worker at Enumamula market and joined hands with his relative Sai to commit thefts to live a lavish life. The duo used to identify locked houses by moving around the city and other places during morning hours and they broke into those houses to commit thefts during night hours. Similarly, they stole vehicles parked outside residences during night hours.

The Commissioner of police G Sudheer Babu appreciated additional DCP Ashok Kumar, ACP B Babu Rao, CCS inspector David Raju, sub-inspector BVS Rao, ASI, Sanjeeva Reddy, head constable Srinivasa Raju, constables Shaik Mohammed Ali, Ravi Kumar and Jampaiah for nabbing the thief and recovering the property.
